December Boost: 21 Practical + Soulful Ways to Prepare Your Business for a Confident 2026

Ah December is here and all of a sudden it feels like the world has sped up.

School holidays looming, carol concerts, costumes to find and that's before we even think about presents!

But what about your business? Are you in survival mode this month, doing the minimum to keep going and "get you through?"

I've been there too but I've learnt that there's another way....a softer way to embrace December (and all of the chaos!) which still gives you time to look after you and your business.

How?

Taking small actions each day for the first 3 weeks in December so that you can finally take a proper break over the Christmas period, leaving you feeling excited to get back to your business after some important time off.

Sound good?

Here's 21 ideas of what to do in December:

  1. Take some time with your business calendar to look back (properly!) and reflect on what felt aligned this year

  2. Look back at where your business was this time last year - What's changed? How have you grown?

  3. Celebrate your progress this year (with your team if you have one or find some other business owners to celebrate with)

  4. Make sure your gift cards are available (if this applies to your business)

  5. Get clear on your vision for 2026

  6. Make a business vision board to help you stay focused

  7. Grab a big piece of paper (I like A3) and brain dump everything on your mind about your business

  8. Choose what is most important to do this month

  9. Schedule in some time off in 2026

  10. Book in some self-care time in 2026 (book onto that pottery course you've snapshotted or whatever else helps you to recharge)

  11. Complete your tax return

  12. Set up your out of office for over the Christmas period

  13. Schedule a festive greetings email to your clients / subscribers

  14. Make a social media post sharing what's coming up in 2026

  15. Make a social media post for after the festive period so it's easy to have something to share after Christmas

  16. Update your business hours on Google

  17. Send an email to recent clients and ask for a review

  18. Respond to above reviews

  19. Make sure you're organised for 2026: get a planner if that's your thing, or a wall calendar or make sure your online version is ready to go

  20. Book for events in 2026: networking, co-working - get it in your diary!

  21. Make some festive plans to help you recharge

What are you going to start with?
