Do you ever go on holiday but end up not doing anything just for you?
You end up looking after everyone else (which you're very good at!) but you come back home just as frazzled as before you went.
Well, I'm here to tell you that the best way to make time for you on holiday is right now...yep...before you go!
Here's my top 3 tips that you can do from your own home to make sure you look after yourself this holiday:
1. Think about what you find stressful on holiday and come up with a plan of getting rid of that stress
For example, if your fed up of thinking of what to cook and you're going on a self catering holiday, the last thing you will want to do is cook while you're away!
Here's a few ideas of what to do instead:
If you're staying in the UK, book a meal prep service for the time you are away.  The ingredients will come to you all ready for you to follow the instructions and enjoy tasty meals while you’re away, without the stresses of shopping for all the stuff!
Divide up the cooking if there's more than one adult going so that you all get some time not cooking.
Make sure you don't go to the same supermarket you use at home. Lidl is here, there and everywhere and even switching up supermarkets can help you feel like you're escaping the mundane.
2. Make some time to fill your own cup up
Find an adventure for your family to go on for half a day that you're happy to miss (a ride on a glass bottom boat? a coastal path walk? a trip to the nearby aquarium?) and book a massage, or go to a local yoga class, or to the cafe your friends have recommended and enjoy some time just for you.
And if this sounds selfish to you, just think about how much more calm and patient you would be with a few hours to yourself.
But don't leave it until you're on holiday to book, as other stuff will get in the way. Book it before you go from the comfort of your sofa.
3. Think about what you would really like to do this holiday all together.
Have a meal out at the fancy local restaurant?
Go and visit another island for a day trip?
Watch the sunset on the beach with a pizza?
Share whatever your dream is with your partner, family or friends and make it happen! Get it booked in before you go so you have something lovely to look forward to!
